There is much more than hope available to those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

    Immortal (Radio Edit)

===lyrics based largely on John 11 and Romans 6===

Time - the source of all our fears
The clock moving on can haunt you for years
In sorrow are the sisters in Bethany
Who's beloved brother had fallen asleep
If you believe Glory of God you'll see
The Gates of Heaven you'll be given the key
The Lord exclaimed Come out of this grave
Roll away the stone, your sins I forgave

I am immortal - sounds unbelievable
Without wings I know I will fly
I am immortal - so inconceivable
I am the way, the truth and the life

Jesus knows the troubles you're in
His spirit moves so deep within
If you have fears, if you have doubts
I know you do, He'll work it out
If there's one thing I know and I know it for sure
Christ overcame death and the grave
Since we're united in death with Him
    Surely we will resurrect again

I am immortal - sounds unbelievable
Without wings I know I will fly
I am immortal - so inconceivable
Because of Your Grace I'll never die
I am immortal - sounds unbelievable
Without wings I know I will fly
    I am immortal - it's undeniable
You are the way, the truth and the life

It really hurts to lose loved ones I know
But by grace for them time doesn't flow

I am immortal - sounds unbelievable
Without wings I know I will fly
Yeah - I am immortal - so inconceivable
Because of Your Grace I'll never die
    O - I am immortal - sounds unbelievable
Without wings I know I will fly
I am immortal - so irrefutable
You said I am the way, the truth and the life
NOTES
For Donna. "Immortal" was an enormously difficult song for me to complete, because of the expressed feelings of losing loved ones over time.

Like "Grave Robber" by Petra, "Immortal" uses Biblical reassurances that loved ones who die in Christ are not gone forever, but are asleep in God's Amazing Grace. "Since we're united in death with Him - Surely we will resurrect again!" from Romans 6. The song also uses images from the account of the raising of Lazarus in John 11.

The single artwork photo cover was taken at St. Mary's Parish in Muskegon, Michigan on March 4, 2017. Image of the church used by permission.
